About Me

Stephanie Schoeppe is a Senior Lecturer in Public Health / Research Fellow at Central Queensland University, School of Health, Medical and Applied Sciences, Physical Activity Research Group. She currently holds an Early Career Fellowship from the National Health and Medical Research Council/National Heart Foundation of Australia. Her research areas include population-based physical activity promotion, sedentary behaviour prevention, health promotion, public health, physical activity correlates, child health behaviours and family-based interventions using smartphone technology. Recently, her research interests also combine outdoor physical activity promotion with environmental action (i.e. picking up plastic litter).

Dr Schoeppe received a Diploma in Social Sciences (equivalent to a Master) from the University of Hannover (2002), and completed her PhD at Central Queensland University, Rockhampton (2015). Between these degrees, Ms Schoeppe conducted research at Hannover Medical School (2002-2003) and The University of Sydney, Centre for Physical Activity and Health (2004-2006) and NHMRC Clinical Trials Centre (2008-2010). She had also appointments at the World Health Organization including the WHO European Centre for Environment and Health in Bonn (2006) and the WHO Headquarter in Geneva (2007).
