About Me

General

Background

Geoff is a lecturer in Exercise and Sports Science at Central Queensland University (CQU) and an accredited Exercise Scientist and Level 2 Sports Scientist with Exercise and Sports Science Australia (EESA). He currently coordinates the biomechanics units at CQU and has extensive experience teaching in motor control, skill acquisition and neuroscience units across multiple universities. Geoff has recently completed his PhD in the disciplines of biomechanics and skill acquisition with his thesis titled 'Using Wearable Microsensor Technology to Investigate Exploratory Behaviours in Field Hockey Athletes' completed through the Australian Catholic University (ACU) and the Queensland Academy of Sport (QAS). Geoff's research interests include leveraging technology to quantify/improve human performance in both laboratory and natural performance settings. He has worked with various athletes and coaches at the international, national and community level, and enjoys the challenge that working towards movement solutions in the real world brings. Geoff has worked alongside internationally and nationally recognised leaders across a wide variety of contexts including Rugby Australia, National Rugby League clubs, Cricket New South Wales, Sydney Dance Company, Northern Pride Rugby League Club and Ryde Hunters Hill Hockey Club in a range of collaborative relationships. He is also an Adjunct Research Fellow in the Human Performance Research Centre at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS).
