About Me

Chunpeng (Gary) Zhai holds a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, a Graduate Certificate in TESOL, a Master of TESOL, a Master of Arts in Applied Linguistics, and a PhD in Computer Science from CQUniversity, Australia. He currently serves as a lecturer and tutor in the School of Engineering & Technology at CQUniversity.

Gary's research interests focus on intelligent information systems, e-learning, and applied linguistics and education. His work integrates dimensions of culture, empathy, and humor to enhance learning outcomes and foster meaningful educational experiences.

He has contributed to several high-impact international refereed journals, including Computers & Education: Artificial Intelligence, Smart Learning Environments, IEEE Access, and Heliyon. In addition to his research contributions, Gary actively participates as a peer reviewer, such as Computers & Education, Journal of Computers and Digital Business, International Journal of Technology and Educational Innovation, and Austin Journal of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. Furthermore, he has been invited to join the Editorial Review Board for the Journal of Computers and Digital Business.

Gary has shared his research findings at prominent international conferences, including the 11th International Conference on Information and Education Technology, the 31st International Conference on Computers in Education hosted by the Asia-Pacific Society for Computers in Education, the 8th International Conference of the Immersive Learning Research Network (iLRN), and the 30th International Conference on Computers in Education.
