About Me
I initially developed the acclaimed Bachelor of Paramedic Science and had since taken up positions as Deputy Dean (Learning and Teaching) within the school paramedicine sat within and now expanded to the School of Business and Law. In 2019 I was awarded the Vice Chancellors Tier 2 award for Outstanding Contributions to Learning and Teaching. I have a number of publications and book chapters and have presented at numerous conferences and symposiums. Anthony’s PhD is focussed on developing a paramedic signature pedagogy.
General
Background
Anthony Weber was for over 20 years an Intensive Care and Flight Paramedic with the Queensland Ambulance Service, from which he was awarded the prestigious ‘Paramedic of the Year’ award for Central Region in 2006. Anthony then turned his talents to a second successful career in paramedic education, where he was the Program Leader for the acclaimed Bachelor of Paramedic Science in the School of Medical and Applied Sciences and has since taken up the position as Deputy Dean (Learning and Teaching) within the school and is now Deputy Dean in the School of Business and Law. His recently published research has examined Paramedic attitudes towards morphine administration with his current research interests being in interdisciplinary education, empathy levels amongst paramedic students, simulation in paramedic education, physiological fatigue levels of paramedics performing CPR and MRSA in medical helicopters. Anthony is currently completing his PhD in the area of paramedic curriculum. Anthony has presented at a number of conferences and symposiums.
