Stephanie Chappel is a postdoctoral research fellow at the Appleton Institute. Her current research is focused within the rail industry investigating the Goldilocks principle and developing a 'just right' job design.
Stephanie completed an undergraduate degree in Exercise and Sport Science at Deakin University, investigating the physical activity of firefighters within- and between-shifts in 2015. She then began her PhD in 2016 within the Institute for Physical Activity and Nutrition at Deakin University investigating emergency nurses' activity levels at work and during their leisure time.
Stephanie's research interests include, physically demanding occupations, physical activity, shiftwork, and worker's health and safety. She has also been involved in physical activity research within children, adolescent, and adult populations, and has experience with multiple physical activity monitoring devices.
Stephanie is a committee member of the Network of Early Career Researchers and Students of ISBNPA. She is also a member of the Asia-Pacific Society for Physical Activity (ASPA), part of a Compositional Data Anlayais (CoDa) working group, and a member of the Goldilocks Work group.
