About Me

Ellie Cutmore is the co‑Head of Course – Bachelor of Nursing (CL91) and Head of Course – Bachelor of Nursing (Enrolled Nurse Pathway) (CM77) within the School of Nursing, Midwifery and Social Sciences at CQUniversity. She is a Registered Nurse with extensive clinical experience across a range of acute medical and surgical settings in hospitals throughout southeast Queensland.

Ellie has significant expertise in nursing and clinical education and previously worked extensively as a Clinical Facilitator across undergraduate nursing programs. Her professional interests include nursing education, clinical facilitation, assessment practices, and preparing healthcare students for safe, high-quality practice across diverse clinical environments.

Ellie is currently undertaking doctoral studies under the supervision of Associate Professor Barbra Zupan, Professor Amanda Henderson, and Dr Miriam Ham. Her doctoral research explores the development of pedagogical practice in novice nurse academics. Ellie's other qualifications include a Bachelor of Nursing, a Postgraduate Certificate in Nursing Science (Clinical Teaching), and a Master of Health Science (Research). Her master’s research was completed under the supervision of Professor Amanda Henderson and Dr Pammie Ellem, examining the effectiveness of an educational intervention designed to support clinical facilitators in building mentorship capacity among care staff in residential aged care facilities. The study also explored the impact of this intervention on nursing students’ perceptions of working with older adults and the aged care clinical learning environment.
