I graduated from my Bachelor of Social work at James Cook University (Cairns Campus) in 1995, and went into ongoing study whilst working. I then completed a Graduate Diploma with the Expressive Therapies Institute of Australia in 2001. In 2015 I completed a Masters of Mental Health (Perinatal and Infant Mental Health), with the NSW Institute of Psychiatry. Currently I am a PhD Candidate with the University of the Sunshine Coast in the field of child protection and Infants in out of home care.
I have held many roles throughout my career including senior mental health roles in government: Child and Youth Mental Health; Evolve Therapeutic Services and Child Development. I have also worked across the non government sector within women's health fields and in private practice programs; in mental health care coordination and mental health social work (psychotherapy) services.
I began my academic career in 2017 as a sessional staff member with the University of the Sunshine Coast in teaching, field education liaison and supervision.
Whilst proud of my accomplishments to date my greatest achievement include my relationship with my husband (over 25 years) and having four amazing children...
