I am an Accredited Exercise Physiologist currently specialising in Cardiac Rehabilitation. My PhD is examining the impact of capillary structure on blood supply to the calf muscles in patients with peripheral arterial disease using two- and three-dimensional imaging techniques. I lecture across multiple healthcare disciplines in areas such pathophysiology and pharmacology for nurses, functional anatomy for speech pathologists and healthcare communication for nutritionists. I am also active in the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) space; focusing on engaging students in content, linking theory to practice, using assessments that link to professional needs, and SoLT research.
I have over 10 years experience in the fitness, health and rehabilitation industry as an Accredited Exercise Physiologist and Running Coach. In 2019 I secured a continuing position with the Clinical Sciences Team within the School of Health, Medical and Applied Sciences. My main research is focused on risk factors in chronic conditions, women's health and exercise, the transition of learning from VET to HE, and application of learning to professional settings.
