I hold a Bachelor of Social Work (Honours) from the University of South Australia. Since graduating, I have built my skills and abilities through further formal study at both undergraduate and post-graduate levels. My qualifications span human services, leadership and management. In 2018 I completed a post-graduate certificate in marketing, to further support my knowledge in the broader marketing of organisations. I have a sound understanding of both theory and practice in the fields in which I am qualified, gained through both formal qualifications and experience. I have specific expertise and experience in the development and delivery of services in regional, rural and remote communities.

In 2017, I was invited to provide expertise to the Diocesan Council for Child Protection and the Protection of Vulnerable People in the Catholic Diocese of Port Pirie. My professional qualifications, community experience and roles working with vulnerable people of all ages provides a sound basis for my membership of this group.
In 2015, I presented the key findings of the ‘Dropping off the Edge’ report to elected members and the gallery of the Port Augusta City Council. This report was commissioned by Catholic Social Services Australia and Jesuit Social Services to examine place-based disadvantage.
In 2015, I was invited by the University of SA to become a mentor for students seeking to become ‘research ready.’ This involved mentoring students to choose and develop a research topic, understand the requirements of conducting research and support them in their orientation to university life.
