About Me

I am Lecturer in Chemistry within the Agriculture, Science and Environment Department of the School of Health, Medical and Applied Sciences. I commenced employment at CQUniversity in 2011 as a Research Officer on water chemistry and aquatic-ecosystem management projects. Since 2014, I have conducted various teaching roles across the first-year Chemistry, Environmental Chemistry and Analytical Science Units. I have also been conducting a part-time PhD on 'The chemistry of metals in a river system associated with coal mine-affected water releases’. My research interests include multi-variate water quality analysis; metal speciation and potential bioavailability; sediment and nutrient composition of Great Barrier Reef catchments; and more broadly, the application of analytical chemistry techniques during environmental monitoring and management. Currently funded projects include ‘Science Leadership and Coordination for Waterway health reporting in the Largest Great Barrier Reef catchment, the Fitzroy Basin' and 'Investigating the Environmental Requirements of a Lower Fitzroy Water Quality Monitoring Program for the Rookwood Weir Project'.
