About Me

I started my career as a VET teacher in 2012, as a casual in CQ TAFE while still working in the hospitality industry. I thoroughly enjoy passing on my own experiences in the hospitality, travel and tourism students. Opening the 5th Floor Training Restaurant for services to for the hospitality students to gain live experiences in a working hospitality environment is very rewarding. Watching the students gain more confidence and experience is very satisfying. Providing real life hands on experiences to the student to prepare them for their own career within the hospitality, travel and tourism industries is the upmost importance to me as a VET teacher.

When I am not teaching I am spending time with my family. Travelling and visiting the local area and tourist attractions. I am all about holidaying in your own back yard here in Queensland and Australia and experiencing as much of our great country I can Training for triathlons. Volunteering at local PCYC for assisting with karate classes

General
Background

I’ve been working in the hospitality industry for over 20 years, in this time I’ve gained experience working in all areas of a licencesd venue. I have worked passionately in the gaming, promotions and marketing sections for seven years during my time in the hospitality industry on the Sunshine Coast and here in Mackay. I enjoy creating and developing new promotions, training staff, and motivating a team consistently. I can work within and understand all of the governed legislation and regulations required in the hospitality, travel and tourism industries.

  • High level of computer skills including Excel, Word, Publisher and PowerPoint
  • Over 20 years experience in delivering good quality customer service both face to face and phone or online based

Professional Experience

August 2012 to February 2015 Bar and Gaming Attendant at Sails Sports Bar at Mackay Marina

  • Worked in all service areas of the venue, gaming room, TAB, Keno and Sports Bar
  • Maintain a clean and tidy personal appearance
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment followed all WPHS policy and procedures
  • Maintained stock levels of all beverages alcoholic and non=alcoholic in bar areas, cold rooms and display stand
  • Process all financial transactions on POS and eftpos terminal. Balanced Cashier in gaming room, TAB terminals and KENO. Counted all required tills at the opening shifts and balanced all tills at the end of each shift and closing.
  • Attended electronic gaming machines, payouts, cleared errors, performed cash clearance and basic maintenance of EGM's

  • Key responsibilities includes hosted weekly gaming promotions and bingo session with in the club. Assisted the Promotions Manager int heir role, performed their duties while they were on leave. Worked in all areas of the club, gaming, functions, main bar, bistro table service, bar and cashier. Consistently supplied a good standard of customer service at all times while at work. Ensured all the staff members in all areas aware of all promotions and the appropriate terms and conditions are followed.
