Kirsten Walpole is the Executive Assistant to Professor Adrian Miller, as well as a highly skilled and accomplished administrator to the Office of Indigenous Engagement (OIE) staff.
Prior to working with OIE I held a position in the university’s Development and Alumni Relations (now Advancement and Alumni Relations Directorate) team for two years.
I have an Associate Diploma of Business, Office Administration, from Ipswich College of TAFE and 25 years experience in her field, having held positions with a wide variety of government, private, mining, rural and regional organisations, including the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority for four years, QBuild, mining and construction firms.
I have a strong attraction for the natural environment and feel deeply connected to Central and North Queensland, with a particular soft spot for the Torres Strait where I lived for a short while.
In 2019, I qualified as a Commissioner for Declarations (C-Dec) and now volunteer regularly at the local library witnessing various documents.
I was born on Darumbal Country at Rockhampton and have lived in many parts of Queensland including Brisbane, Barcaldine, Townsville, Thursday Island, Tieri and Moranbah before moving back to Rockhampton to start work with CQUniversity in the Development and Alumni Relations Team for almost two years prior to moving to the Office of Indigenous Engagement in 2016.
In December 2020 I transferred to Townsville and have recently started studying Project Management.
I started with CQU in 2014 as A/Development Administrator with the Development and Alumni Relations Directorate (DARD) and moved to the Office of Indigenous Engagement in 2016.
