About Me

I am the Director of Indigenous Student Outcomes at CQUniversity, working on initiatives focused on improving the success, retention, and overall experience of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students. My work is centred on embedding culturally informed, evidence-based approaches across the student lifecycle, with a strong focus on driving meaningful change. Prior to this role, I worked as Executive Officer to the Vice-President (Indigenous Engagement), where I provided strategic and operational support across key priorities including reconciliation, Indigenous workforce development, and stakeholder engagement. This experience gave me a strong understanding of institutional systems and the opportunities to influence outcomes at scale.

I am passionate about creating opportunities for First Nations students to succeed in ways that are meaningful to them, and I am committed to fostering environments where culture, community, and education are valued and connected.

General

Background

My career has spanned education, research, community engagement, and environmental science. I have worked directly with First Nations students and communities in both school and community settings, as well as in leadership roles supporting environmental and conservation programs. These experiences shape my practical, grounded approach to leadership and my commitment to working in partnership with communities. Earlier in my career, I served in the Royal Australian Air Force, where I developed strong leadership, discipline, and organisational skills that continue to underpin my work today.

I am currently completing a PhD in seagrass restoration and conservation, with a focus on ecosystem resilience and sustainability. I also hold an Honours degree in Applied Biology and a Graduate Diploma in Statistical Analysis, which support my commitment to data-informed decision-making and continuous improvement.
