I completed my Bachelor of Health Promotion as a mature-aged student. After a stint in public health, I returned to CQUniversity as a research officer. Then, I worked with the Accessibility team on a two-year project.
My current role is with the School of Access Education. I work as an Associate Lecturer in the STEPS program and for the Academic Learning Centre (ALC) as an Academic Learning Adviser.
I have a particular interest in equity in education. My current RHD is centred on the links between enabling education and the social and emotion well-being of students.
Before entering the field of academia, I worked in a variety of roles, most of which involved working with people who were disadvantaged or belonged to at least one equity group. I have also taught English as a second language in China and worked as an IELTS Examiner. My interest in contributing to a fair society and language continues now in my current roles.
