About Me

Research and teaching are my passions, and leadership is my professional interest. I aim to be an exemplary academic leader not only in my discipline but also in the development, management and promotion of education with aims to improve the student experience, and achieve academic and community-level outcomes and contribute making positive institutional changes. As a person, I am friendly and supportive.


Dr Parves Sultan has 20 years of teaching, coordination, research, engagement, supervision and academic-leadership experience in the contexts of various international and domestic universities. He was awarded a PhD in 2011 in Marketing from the Central Queensland University Australia with the prestigious International Postgraduate Research Scholarship. His academic career in Australia started as an Assistant Professor in Advertising and Marketing Communications at the University of Canberra in early 2011. An an alumni, he came back to the Central Queensland University in June 2012 as a Senior Lecturer in Marketing to give back to the community. He has been leading a number of academic programs, disciplines and research teams since 2011. Dr Sultan is currently on the editorial advisory board of a Tier A journal, Asia Pacific Journal of Marketing and Logistics. He has published more than 68 research papers in various academic journals, books, and referred conference proceedings. His research papers are published in top-tier academic journals, including the Journal of Brand Management, Food Quality and Preference, Managing Service Quality (Journal of Service Theory and Practice), Journal of Business and Industrial Marketing, International Journal on Disability and Human Development, Asia Pacific Journal of Marketing and Logistics, International Journal of Bank Marketing, Australasian Journal of Regional Studies, Journal of Food Products Marketing, Quality Assurance in Education, and International Journal of Quality and Service Sciences. He earned the Emerald Literati Network’s the Excellence in Research Award, and ANZRSAI’s the best paper award and the highly commended paper award for his research papers. He has also earned teaching awards in various terms/years, including ‘student voice award’ and ‘educator of the year award’. Dr Sultan is active in research higher degree (RHD) student supervision and completed a few RHD supervision. His research interests include general business studies, including marketing, tourism, CSR and governance, management and HRM, Islamic finance, micro-credit, economics, development studies, and entrepreneurship. He has expertise and knowledge in both quantitative and qualitative research methods and data analysis.
