About Me

Dr Elizabeth Ellison is a senior lecturer in Creative Industries at CQUniversity, currently teaching in the postgraduate space (Noosa campus). She is the Academic Coordinator of the Creative Arts Research Training Academy (CARTA). Liz is an investigator and on the Steering Committee for the Central Queensland Regional Arts Services Network (CQ RASN).

Prior to this role, she worked as a lecturer in the Creative Industries Faculty at Queensland University of Technology. She has worked as a named investigator on an Office of Learning and Teaching grant (OLT) investigating postgraduate (coursework and higher degree research) courses nationally. She previously has completed research work on an OLT grant investigating higher degree research supervision in the creative arts, and a number of regional arts projects with industry partners such as Sunshine Coast Council, Bundaberg Regional Council and Artslink Queensland.

Currently, Liz is the Special Issues editor for TEXT and the Reviews editor for the Australasian Journal of Popular Culture.

Liz's doctoral thesis explored representations of the Australian beach in literature and film and was awarded in 2013 from Queensland University of Technology. She has continued to publish in film and television studies, and literary studies.

  • Regional arts and evaluation
  • Postgraduate higher education (including coursework and supervision)
