About Me

Dr Elizabeth Ellison is the Deputy Dean (Research) for the School of Education and the Arts. She is Manager and Chief Investigator of a number of regional arts projects, including the Savannah Way Public Art Trail and the Central Queensland Regional Arts Services Network (2018-2021), funded through Arts Queensland. Until 2021, Liz was also the Academic Coordinator of 'CARTA', a Creative Arts Research Training Academy for postgraduate research students at CQU. She previously has completed research work on an OLT grant investigating higher degree research supervision in the creative arts, and with a number of regional arts projects with industry partners such as Sunshine Coast Council, Bundaberg Regional Council and Artslink Queensland.

Prior to her role at CQUni, Liz worked as a lecturer in the Creative Industries Faculty at Queensland University of Technology. Liz's doctoral thesis explored representations of the Australian beach in literature and film and was awarded in 2013 from Queensland University of Technology. She has continued to publish in film and television studies, and literary studies.

  • Regional arts and evaluation
  • Postgraduate higher education (including coursework and supervision)
