About Me

Bobby Harreveld is a Professor in the School of Education & the Arts, and Director of the Centre for Research in Equity and Advancement of Teaching & Learning (CREATE) at Central Queensland University Australia. With colleagues, Bobby has undertaken 38 externally funded research projects; with books, book chapters, and journal articles produced from that work. She has completed 31 higher degree by research supervisions (25 doctoral theses & 6 masters); and is currently supervising 16 research candidates.

As a researcher and teacher, interests include:

socio-cultural understandings of education in diverse contexts

research education and ethics (politics, theory, practice)

professional and vocational education and employment transition pathways 

distance, open, and online teaching and learning

  • Invited internal member of CQU’s accreditation and review panel for the Property Suite of Programs, School of Business & Law (March 2013)
  • Invited external panel member of: (a) Monash University’s Bachelor of Adult Learning and Development program review (October-November 2012); (b) Queensland College of Teachers’ accreditation review of Graduate Diploma of Education, Christian Heritage College, Brisbane (2013-2014)

As the Foundation Director of the Learning and Teaching Education Research Centre (LTERC), responsibilities included: establishing the strategic direction and operational management plan for education research related activities into learning and teaching at CQUniversity.

2005-2008 Senior Lecturer, School of Learning & Innovation, FABIE, CQU & Research Fellow, EIDOS

  • Academic Leadership: Program Coordinator, Master of Learning Management; Course co-ordinator and lecturer in six (6) Masters coursework courses. Course coordination and lecturer in pre-service teacher education courses in literacy and numeracy across the curriculum.
  • Consultancy work in education and training e.g. workplace literacy; program/course development including delivery & evaluation; recognition of prior learning; articulation and pathways; tertiary, vocational and technical education professional development.
